Overview

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is inviting proposals from organisations to support British nationals affected by forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM).

Apply by 9am (UK time) on 3 August 2026.

The maximum value of this funding opportunity is £25,000. You can apply for less than the maximum amount.

The expected grant period is 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. Any extension will depend on performance and the availability of funding.

You should only apply if you can meet the requirements set out on this page and submit all mandatory documents.

We will not assess incomplete applications.

Check if you are eligible to apply

You can apply if your organisation can demonstrate:

  • understanding of issues affecting people at risk of or experiencing forced marriage or FGM who are returning to the UK
  • experience of supporting British nationals during resettlement
  • experience or understanding of working with UK government and overseas governments
  • capacity to deliver support in complex and challenging situations

Your organisation must already hold any licences or permits required to operate in the countries where services will be delivered.

Understand what the funding will support

The successful applicant will provide tailored, case-specific support, which may include:

  • meeting individuals returning to the UK, including at airports where necessary, and liaising with police and social services
  • providing support for immediate needs, including access to temporary accommodation, clothing and food
  • helping individuals access benefits, healthcare, social services, employment support and housing
  • supporting access to legal advice where individuals wish to pursue civil or criminal proceedings
  • providing access to emotional support and counselling

Your proposal should include:

  • the purpose of the proposed partnership
  • activities, outputs and outcomes
  • risks and safeguarding considerations
  • monitoring and evaluation arrangements

Step 3: Prepare your budget

Complete the
FCDO activity-based budget template (ODS, 9.06 KB)

  • budgets must be provided in GBP
  • you must demonstrate value for money
  • only include costs that are directly attributable to delivering the proposed activities

Step 4: Complete the AI disclosure

Complete the
FCDO AI disclosure form (ODT, 7.33 KB)

Using artificial intelligence (AI) tools does not disadvantage your application. You are responsible for the accuracy of all content you submit.

Submit your application

We will not accept late submissions.

How we will assess proposals

We will assess proposals against criteria including:

  • fit with consular objectives
  • project design
  • risk
  • budget and value for money
  • stakeholders
  • monitoring and evaluation
  • cross cutting effects, such as safeguarding and equality considerations
