With 2022 coming to a wrap, excited anticipation over what’s to come in 2023 is starting to take over. However, before we dive into the new year, we have to look back and acknowledge some of the women in the rap game who made noteworthy moves in 2022.
Here are ten songs by female rappers, in no particular order, that debuted this past year and deserve a shoutout.
‘We Not Humping (Remix)’ by Monaleo
First up, we have Monaleo’s remix of “We Not Humping,” which initially debuted back in 2021. She partnered up with Flo Milli for the revamped bop, and these rappers definitely ATE on the track.
If you’re looking for an energy-filled song that humorously throws shade over a poppin’ beat, Monaleo delivers the perfect solution.
‘Pretty Girls’ by Flo Milli
Speaking of Flo Milli, her You Still Here, Ho? album spawned numerous bops, including “Conceited,” “Big Steppa,” and “PBC.” However, we’re taking a moment to specifically give “Pretty Girls” a shoutout, as this fun track is great for hyping yourself up to live your best life!
After all, “Girls just wanna have fun!”
.@_FloMilli is a “real big mood.” 💅

‘F.N.F. (Let’s Go)’ by GloRilla
GloRilla had a phenomenal year by churning out hit after hit. Before beloved tracks like “Blessed” and “Tomorrow 2,” though, it all began with her collab with Hitmaka: “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).”
The Memphis-bred rapper came through with the “song of the summer,” and she’s only continued to rise from there. In fact, the hit ultimately became Spotify’s top viral song.
‘Mind Yo Business’ by Lakeyah
Thanks to TikTok and Instagram reels, plenty of people were exposed to “Mind Yo Business.” This Lakeyah track graced a number of videos on social media, and for good reason, too!
After all, everyone needs to belt out a good “First off, b***h mind yo business!” every now and then.
‘Big Energy’ by Latto
Latto unveiled a fun track that played off of “Fantasy” by Mariah Carey this year, and we’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge this banger!
A remix of “Big Energy” featuring Mariah herself, as well as DJ Khaled, added to the song’s widespread success. Additionally, it won “Song of the Year” at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.
‘Top Notch’ by City Girls
Yung Miami and JT teamed up with Fivio Foreign for this track, and it’s definitely a solid single to help hold fans over for the next City Girls project.
We also have to give it to JT, as her verse in “Top Notch” went particularly hard!
‘Blick Blick!’ by Coi Leray
On the heels of 2021 hits like “No More Parties” and “BIG PURR (Prrdd),” Coi Leray partnered with Nicki Minaj to pen another bop: “Blick Blick!”
However, Nicki ultimately revealed that this project almost didn’t occur due to drama between her and Coi’s father, Benzino. Thankfully, though, the pair pulled through and brought the track to life.
‘Munch’ by Ice Spice
Ice Spice, humorously dubbed the “modern day Princess Diana” by some stans, is another artist who reached widespread success in 2022 with “Munch.” Additionally, she debuted other well-received hits like “Bikini Bottom” and “Name of Love” this year, too.
We should also add that Ice Spice was recently named the top star on TikTok’s list of the year’s “Emerging Artists.” So, it’s safe to say that audiences are feelin’ Ice Spice!
‘Super Freaky Girl’ by Nicki Minaj
While the Grammys may not classify “Super Freaky Girl” as a rap track, we have to respectfully disagree and give Nicki her flowers.
The song—which plays off of “Super Freak” by Rick James—was widely used on social media, and a mashup between “Super Freaky Girl” and “Luxurious” by Gwen Stefani was particularly popular. Notably, the track was Nicki Minaj’s first solo hit to premiere at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

‘Plan B’ by Megan Thee Stallion
Finally, we have “Plan B” by Megan Thee Stallion, which was included on her Traumazine album after initially being released as a single.
The H-Town Hottie went IN on the track, and one particular verse that referenced Ice-T captivated fans.
