Dive Insight:
With more c-store chains like Wawa and QuikTrip moving into the travel center space, partnerships like this one with Daimler are aimed at boosting Love’s value among truckers.
“We know that time is money for professional drivers, and we’re excited to introduce a new service touch point to help get Freightliner drivers back on the road quickly,” said Gary Price, executive vice president of total truck care solutions for Love’s. “Working with DTNA and Freightliner dealers, we will have the systems in place to maximize uptime for our mutual customers.”
More details about the partnership and service offerings will be made available this spring, according to the announcement.
Freightliners make up a large portion of the 18 wheelers on the road in the United States, accounting for over a third of the Class 8 trucks — which include dump trucks, cement mixers and most 18-wheelers — sold in 2022, according to ACT Research’s North American Commercial Vehicle Outlook, as reported by The Trucker.
Oklahoma City-based Love’s has more than 600 locations in 42 states along with 430 service stations between its Love’s Truck Care and Speedco locations, which together provide 1,500 maintenance bays and 1,200 emergency roadside vehicles for their customers.
