Technology

Intel and AMD, both leaders in the computing hardware industry, are set to broaden their 800-series motherboard offerings with more affordable options, catering to budget-conscious consumers. These new mid-range and entry-level boards are expected to be unveiled at CES 2025 next week, following months of anticipation since the release of their flagship 800-series models earlier this year.

Affordable Options for Consumers

According to leaks from a tipster on the Chinese forum Board Channels, Intel and AMD are preparing to announce their new budget-friendly 800-series motherboards at CES 2025, with official announcements expected on January 7. Intel is reportedly planning to offer pre-orders starting January 6, while the motherboards themselves are set to launch shortly after, on January 13. AMD’s budget boards will follow, with a release date of January 15.

Intel’s offerings will include the B860 and H810 motherboards, while AMD will introduce the B850 and B840 models. These boards are expected to offer more affordable alternatives for users who want to upgrade to the latest platform without the high costs associated with premium motherboard models. Renowned manufacturers such as Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte are reportedly preparing multiple new models to meet the expected demand for these budget options.

Additional Product Launches from Intel and AMD

January is shaping up to be a busy month for both Intel and AMD. Alongside the 800-series motherboards, Intel is set to launch the Arc B570 graphics card on January 16, following the success of its Arc B580, which has been lauded as one of the best value graphics cards on the market.

On the AMD side, the company is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated RDNA 4 graphics cards. The RDNA 4 desktop lineup will include the flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT, along with other models like the RX 9070, 9060, 9050, and 9040. AMD will also introduce its new laptop graphics cards, including the RX 9070M XT, 9070M, and 9070S. In addition to the graphics cards, AMD is expected to announce its next-generation Ryzen 9 9000X3D processors at the event.

Anticipated Impact on the Market

These upcoming releases are expected to have a significant impact on the market, particularly in the budget and mid-range segments. The introduction of more affordable 800-series motherboards and accompanying components will provide users with greater accessibility to the latest technologies without the premium price tag. As both Intel and AMD continue to push the boundaries of innovation, these new offerings will likely further fuel competition in the market, benefiting consumers with a wider range of options.

With both companies unveiling a slew of new products at CES 2025, January promises to be an exciting month for hardware enthusiasts and casual users alike. As always, it remains to be seen how these releases will shape the future of computing technology.
