Daisy Jones And The Six Trailer With First Music

Entertainment

Based on the bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, this limited series details the rise and fall of renowned rock band Daisy Jones & the Six. In 1977, the band was on top of the world. Fronted by two charismatic lead singers — Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) and Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) — the band had risen from obscurity to fame.

Then, after a sold-out show in Chicago, they suddenly called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members have finally agreed to reveal the truth while being interviewed.

Backed by the songs from the band’s famous album Aurora, Daisy Jones & the Six takes a deep look at the rise, fall, and price of fame.

Before we get into more about the show, the music, the cast, and everything in between, here’s the first teaser trailer, which includes our first listen of the band playing together:

Okay, so first things first. Yes, author Reid has confirmed that Daisy Jones & the Six was inspired by Fleetwood Mac. So those Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham vibes you’re picking up are purposeful, and so amazing.

Alongside Keough and Claflin, Daisy Jones & the Six stars Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, and Tom Wright as Teddy Price, with a special appearance by Timothy Olyphant as Rod Reyes.

And I just have to say, these actors understood the assignment. I mean, my god, watching Daisy Jones & the Six leap off the page and into this trailer is already making me so excited.

Like, Riley and Sam — the sexual tension between Daisy and Billy is already palpable. And this transition from Billy and Camila to Daisy and Billy, oh my god.

I don’t wanna give too much away for non–book readers who get to enjoy this story for the first time through this show, but just know I can’t wait to flail about everything together.

Now, as for the music, which is arguably one of the most important parts of Daisy Jones & the Six, there will be 24 original songs written exclusively for the series and recorded by the cast.

The songs were written by Grammy-nominated producer Blake Mills, who has worked with artists like John Legend, Lana Del Rey, Pink, the Chicks, Fiona Apple, and more, alongside a number of other talented cowriters and musicians, like Phoebe Bridgers.

Behind the scenes, Daisy Jones & the Six is executive-produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter from the media company Hello Sunshine and Brad Mendelsohn. Reese notably selected the novel for her book club in February 2019.

The series was adapted by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who previously wrote The Disaster Artist, The Fault in Our Stars, The Spectacular Now, 500 Days of Summer, and more, with Scott Neustadter co-showrunning the show alongside Will Graham (Prime Video’s A League of Their Own), who is also an executive producer.

I know we are still a little over a month away from Daisy Jones & the Six premiering, but I will be obsessing over this trailer and the little snippets of music from it until then.

Daisy Jones & the Six will premiere on Prime Video on March 3, with new episodes being released every Friday through March 24.
