HONOULULU — News of five-star Miami DB commit Cormani McClain‘s visit was the talk of players at the Polynesian Bowl on Sunday, but one player, Rivals250 Colorado signee Omarion Miller, was paying extra close attention to the situation.

“The commits and the coaches were definitely texting me,” said Miller, who was originally set to visit Boulder this weekend. “I’ve never been before so I’m looking forward to my official but we re-scheduled it for the end of the month.”

McClain made was was supposed to be a secret visit to Colorado but publicly acknowledged the trip on his Instagram on Sunday. Miller said from what he’s hearing from his future coaches and teammates, the Buffs are in a great position.

“I think we’re sitting pretty good in the seat right now,” Miller said.

When asked a follow up as to whether McClain is locked up as a commit, Miller said, “I think so.”

Despite being elite recruits, Miller and McClain haven’t met yet, but he’s hoping that changes in the coming weeks and perhaps when they suit up together for the Buffaloes.

Miller was on of coach Deion Sanders’ first high-profile commits after taking the job last month and he committed and signed despite never visiting campus.

“They sent some coaches to my school and we got to have that bond,” Miller said. “I have a good relationship with them and Coach Prime and I have talked on the phone a few times and he has a plan for me.”

Now that he’s signed with the Buffaloes and seen the other talent joining him in Boulder, he’s even more confident in his decision.

“It was the best fit for me,” Miller said. “I got a chance to watch Jackson State play and watch their offense. Shedeur Sanders is a really good quarterback and I’m excited to go up there and work with him.”

Miller said he will now visit Colorado the weekend of Jan. 27 and will enroll in May.
