The Mission has published the 2026 edition of its Mission Projects Catalogue, featuring 65 Horizon Europe-funded projects that are turning climate adaptation into action to strengthen resilience to floods, droughts, heatwaves, wildfires, sea level rise, and other climate risks.

The Mission Projects Catalogue 2026 brings together key information on each of the 65 Mission-funded projects – highlighting their objectives, achievements, the climate risks they address, and the local and regional authorities involved. Covering a wide range of sectors, these projects reflect the full diversity of Europe’s geography, climate challenges, and adaptation needs.
Across Europe, the catalogue shows how adaptation is being shaped by very different climate realities, but increasingly through shared, place-based approaches. From Lapland (Finland) (MountResilience), where Arctic and mountain regions are adapting to rapid environmental change, to the Netherlands (Zeeland) (NBRACER), where coastal areas are scaling nature-based solutions against storm surges and flooding, to Gdańsk (Poland) (ClimaGen), where urban regeneration is reducing flood risk while improving liveability, and the Valencian Region (Spain) (DesirMED), where Mediterranean communities are responding to rising heat and water stress.
Together, these examples highlight how Europe’s climate risks differ geographically, but how solutions are increasingly converging around integrated, locally grounded adaptation strategies. From ecosystem restoration and urban greening to climate risk assessment, insurance innovation, rural resilience, and infrastructure adaptation, the 65 projects contribute directly to the Mission’s goals of improving preparedness, accelerating transformation, and strengthening long-term resilience across Europe.
