Minister Calleary Launches Public Consultation for New Roadmap to Tackle Social Exclusion in Ireland

Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary TD, today announced the launch of a public consultation to shape a new Roadmap for Social Inclusion, aimed at reducing poverty and enhancing social inclusion for Ireland’s most disadvantaged communities.

Key Details:

  • Public Consultation Open: Now until 30 June 2025
  • Focus: Shaping Ireland’s new strategy to address social exclusion, guide public policy, and ensure comprehensive support for vulnerable populations.
  • Preceding Plan: This new roadmap will succeed the current Roadmap for Social Inclusion 2020-2025, which outlined 81 commitments to tackle poverty. Progress was tracked annually through reports and reviews.

Minister Calleary’s Statement

Minister Calleary stressed the importance of continued focus on poverty and social inclusion, stating:

“The new Roadmap is crucial in ensuring social inclusion remains at the heart of public policy across all government departments. I urge all stakeholders to participate in this consultation, as their input will help craft a comprehensive plan that will guide our efforts in the years ahead.”
