On 18 July 2025, HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, officially opened Insmed Innovation UK Limited’s new Genetic Disease Research Centre at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge. The state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to advancing research into rare genetic diseases, with a focus on improving patient outcomes through cutting-edge science and innovation.
During her visit, The Princess Royal toured the laboratories and engaged with researchers, analysts, and scientists working on breakthrough therapies. The Babraham Research Campus is renowned for its collaborative bioscience ecosystem, supporting early-stage ventures and world-class research in human health.
Following the opening, Her Royal Highness visited Olive Academy in North Cambridge, an alternative provision school that supports students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. She met with pupils and staff, learning how the academy’s tailored, supportive environment is helping young people thrive both academically and personally.
