The Alarming Video
According to NBC News, the video shows three Franklin Academy Muslim students performing a prayer. One of the students recites the “Surah At-Tin” from the Quran.
As the students stretch their bodies in prostration, the teacher can be heard entering the room.
Hold on, this is my office, and y’all doing all this magic.
According to NBC News, the teacher blows a whistle in an effort to get the students’ attention. She then walks into the room, stepping over them as they pray — nearly stepping on one of their hands.
The teacher continues her remarks.
I believe in Jesus, so I’m interrupting the floor.
She proceeds to ask another teacher why the students are in her office.
“They’re praying,” the other teacher responds.
The woman then walks back across the room to question fellow staff, asking who gave the students permission to use her office.
Who told them to come in here?

The Academy Issues A Statement
The Franklin Academy Charter School issued a statement about the disturbing video the same day it surfaced. The school informed the public that the “teacher in question” was “no longer a member” of their staff.
Earlier today, a very troubling TikTok video was shared with our leadership team. At Franklin, we do not tolerate discriminatory behavior in any form.
While we do not discuss personnel matters, we can share that the teacher in question is no longer a member of the Franklin Academy staff.
We look forward to continuing our IB initiatives of creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural & racial understanding and mutual respect.
The Teacher’s Identity & Student’s Reaction
In another statement shared on Facebook, the school asked the public to dispel rumors of another teacher being mistaken for the woman in the video.
It is important for us to remind everyone that Mrs. Marshal, our Reading Interventionist, has been MISTAKENLY and FALSELY identified in the comments of many social media posts. This misinformation has spread quite quickly, resulting in her receiving threats from strangers. (The Pembroke Pines Police Department has been engaged.)
Some people are posting her picture along with her email address, but she is NOT the individual in the viral video. Please do not spread this false information or allow it to go unchallenged. If you do not know Mrs. Marshal, she’s an amazing and active member of our high school English department, teaching intensive reading in her second year with Franklin.
According to NBC News, the Franklin Academy Charter School would not reveal the identity of the “teacher in question” or provide insight into when exactly the viral incident took place.
The student who allegedly shared the video on TikTok, captioned the post saying they were shaken by the event.
I literally don’t even believe what happened to me is real. I’m still shook.
Roommates, what are your thoughts about this?
