Briefing journalists today (30 Jan) in New York, UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said, “It is particularly abhorrent that such an attack occurred at a place of worship.”

He added, “Freedom of religion freedom of belief and the ability to worship in peace is a fundamental human right.”

The Spokesperson also said, “The Secretary-General extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a prompt recovery to those injured, and he reiterates the solidarity of the United Nations with the Government and people of Pakistan in their efforts to address terrorism and violent extremism.”
