Three players the Cowboys could target in 2023 NFL Draft

In 2022, the Dallas Cowboys defense ranked fifth in points per game but only 22nd against the run. The Cowboys could beef up its run defense with upgrades in the 2023 NFL Draft.

When Dallas picks low in the first round, Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter — by far the best defensive tackle prospect — will be gone, but there is no shortage of players to beef up the Cowboys defensive line in the first round and beyond.

Gervon Dexter, the Florida defensive tackle, is one of the higher-ranked interior linemen. He is projected to go early in the second round to Seattle, per Tankathon, but could intrigue Dallas sooner.

The 6-foot-6, 312-pounder is a run-stuffer who flashed occasional pass-rush ability. He is a three-down player who can easily take on double teams.

In 2022,  Dexter posted 55 total tackles (23 solo), two sacks and one interception.
