The ‘Men’s Most Outstanding Player’ quiz

Sports

On Saturday, San Diego State junior Lamont Butler became March Madness royalty.

Down 71-70, Butler got an outlet pass, and instead of calling a timeout, dribbled the length of the floor, crossed over once then hit the most important shot of his life, sending the Aztecs to the men’s championship game for the first time in school history. Postgame, SDSU coach Brian Dutcher was asked why he didn’t call a timeout and gave the most honest explanation he could. “I ran out of plays, so I decided not to take a timeout.” On Monday night, they must now face a UConn squad that has been nothing short of dominant in their run to the title game. The festivities tip-off at 9:20 PM ET on CBS.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. At the conclusion of March Madness, the NCAA hands out the Most Outstanding Player Award to the best player from that year’s tournament. So with that in mind, how many since 1979 on the men’s side can you name in six minutes?

Good luck!
