The ‘Every NBA MVP runner-up in the lottery era’ quiz

Sports

The NBA regular season is winding down, and as teams jockey for playoff position, the three best players in the league are also making a final push to take home the MVP Award. Nikola Jokic is the reigning back-to-back winner and has been the presumptive favorite to take home his third in a row this season. But Joel Embiid, who has finished second in MVP voting the last two seasons, is not going to make it easy on the Joker. Of course, there’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the NBA and who is averaging more the 30 PPG for the first time in his magnificent career. With less than a month to play before the postseason, expect the three candidates to ball out over the next few weeks, hoping they will take home some individual hardware at season’s end.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. As noted, Embiid has been the NBA MVP runner-up the last two seasons and could be headed for a third straight this year. So with that in mind, how many of the players who finished second in the NBA MVP voting since the 1985-86 season can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
