The ‘Cy Young Award winners’ quiz

Sports

We’re just over two weeks away from Opening Day 2023, but MLB is still figuring out some of the new rules for this season. One of the biggest changes implemented this offseason was the pitch clock, which limits the amount of time a pitcher has to make his pitch or be punished by awarding the batter with a ball. Veterans, such as former Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes, have been using spring training to figure out how best to use the clock to their advantage. However, MLB is still making tweaks to the rule, something that doesn’t sit right with Burnes. “There are still things that we’re changing. That’s got to stop. That’s got to be something that we have something finalized so these last two weeks, we can get comfortable with them. I think a lot of players knew this was going to happen just because there were so many holes in all the rules that the league put in play.”

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Burnes is now two seasons removed from his Cy Young win, and if he can deftly navigate the new rules, his skill set will always put him in contention for a second. So with that in mind, how many of the Cy Young winners from both leagues since the 2000 season can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
