Tragic incident in Hradec Králové leaves two women dead; a 16-year-old suspect apprehended.

In a devastating attack at a shopping centre in the Czech Republic, two women were fatally stabbed in a store in Hradec Králové, a city located approximately 100 kilometers east of Prague. The victims, both employees of the store, were attacked by a suspect who remains under investigation.

Police quickly responded, capturing a 16-year-old male suspect just 10 minutes after the incident, less than a kilometre from the scene. The suspect was taken into custody by a SWAT team.

Although initial reports indicated that one of the victims was seriously injured, authorities later confirmed that both women had succumbed to their wounds. Their identities have not been released.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala expressed his deep condolences, calling the attack “absolutely incomprehensible and horrible” in a post on the social media platform X.

At present, the motive behind the stabbings is unclear, and the police have launched an investigation to uncover further details. Authorities assured the public that the situation is under control and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

This tragedy has shaken the local community, and investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the horrific act.
