From May 20-24, Special Representative for Global Partnerships Dorothy McAuliffe and Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State Patricia Gruber will lead a “Deep Tech Inclusion” Partnership Opportunity Delegation (POD) to London, United Kingdom. The trip will foster business-government and business-business partnerships between emerging technology companies and research institutions in the United States and the United Kingdom with an emphasis on fields relevant to national security — artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technology, and synthetic biology.
The POD London participants include founders and senior executives of startups, venture capital firms, research institutions, and non-governmental organizations. POD participants will meet U.S. Embassy officials to learn about opportunities and challenges inherent to the tech startup climate in the United Kingdom. They will also participate in science and technology roundtables, networking events with UK stakeholders, and meetings with potential partners organized by the digital technology trade association, TechUK.
PODs are an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Global Partnerships to facilitate partnership activities between the public and private sectors of the U.S. and selected countries.
