Dundee and Angus College have announced that they will provide the first esports-related degree in Scotland. Students will learn transferable skills such as managing and organizing events, gauging audience engagement, and digital skills like production, broadcasting, commentating, and streaming. The course will run for two years, with students given the option to take a third to earn a full degree.
Students will experience everything firsthand, from a special esports classroom with gaming PCs to a console-filled Esports Society center. Additionally, new plans are in motion to build two tournament rooms, two broadcast studios, and a recording studio.
“We have focused on the practical elements of esports and will provide our students with multiple placement and project opportunities throughout the course with our range of industry partners,” said Lee Lappin, Head of Sector at Dundee and Angus College.
