Raven-Symoné & Adrienne Houghton Discuss ‘Cheetah Girls’

Entertainment

Raven-Symoné and her Disney channel co-star Adrienne Bailon-Houghton reunited with one another earlier this week. And discussed the possibility of a Cheetah Girls reboot.

Raven-Symoné Says She Loves Reboots

Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton sat down for a conversation on E! News. And the former explained that she would film another Cheetah Girls project “in a heartbeat.” The trilogy’s first film, The Cheetah Girls, was released in 2003. The second film, The Cheetah Girls 2, was released in 2006. And the third film, The Cheetah Girls: One World, was released in 2008.

That’s why we did Raven’s Home, that’s why we’re here.

Symoné said in reference to Bailon-Houghton, who currently stars alongside her in the new Disney channel series.

That’s why any time she’s doing something, I’m down and I know she’s the same for me. And I think that there’s a wonderful thing to just encapsulate something and let it live. We are in the era of reboot, honey. We love a reboot.

Symoné Insists That The Pair Won’t “Ruin” A Reboot

Bailon-Houghton states that she hates when “they ruin it,” referring to other reboot productions. But Symoné affirmed that that won’t be the case with their project.

And we can’t ruin the Cheetah Girls, they can’t ruin it.

Symoné went on to explain that although she’s not as enamored with acting as she once was, the team would deliver. And the project “would smash.”

So if there was anything, and I’m trying to be honest, I’ll say this to your face. I’m not trying to act that much anymore, I want to direct. But if there was something that we did together, it would be us and you would be surprised — it would smash.

The Two Also Shared Their Favorite On-Set Memories

The actors, nicknamed “Bubbles and Chuchie,” went on to share their favorite on-set memories from filming the Cheetah Girls movies. Raven-Symoné was absent from the trilogy’s last film, The Cheetah Girls: One World. But she shared that Bailon-Houghton’s eyelashes were one of her favorite memories from the group’s time on set.

I remember the eyelashes, Adrienne. I would never forget in the makeup room, and the care and respect that she puts on her eyelashes.

Bailon-Houghton revealed that her favorite memory came years later.

My favorite memory with you is one that I ended up telling you after my son was born, and it was finding out that we were pregnant — that our surrogate was pregnant on the Raven’s Home lot.

In an interview with TVLine, Bailon-Houghton reflected further on her years-long relationship with Symoné.

I always love working with her… We did the first Cheetah Girls movie when I was 19, and now I’m 38, so we’ve stayed friends for almost 20 years.

Roommates, are you looking forward to seeing the pair in another Cheetah Girls reboot?
