According to Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic, the scheduling format for a 12-team College Football Playoff has been revealed.
The College Football Playoff was a revelation and most fans would likely say that the format is leaps and bounds better than the old BCS system.
If there has been one consistent complaint, though, it has been that only four programs can make it each season. That has led to a lot of the “same ole same ole” teams since the CFP started.
Why not expand the field? That’s been a constant refrain since 2014 and it was consistently enough a talking point that the committee made the big change.
There has been an will be a bit of a waiting period, but the CFP is expected to feature 12 teams by the 2024-2025 season.
