Potato-Made Compostable Cling Wraps : great wrap 1

Trends
Australian biomaterial company known as Great Wrap develops a new cling film alternative that is made from discarded potato skins. It is then packaged in a uniquely designed structure that features a cutter built-in. The wrap is able to biodegrade naturally within 180 days into food and energy for the microbes that are in the compost.

The components of the wrap are organic as it is made from discarded potato skins, starch from the cassava root, and cooking oil. If it is ingested, it ensures that it is not harmful or toxic. The company currently sources the potato skin from Idago but is currently looking for more local sources of potato skins to further reduce the overall carbon impact.
