Open Days 2024: Come visit us!

World

On Saturday 4 May, the EU institutions in Brussels and beyond will open their doors to the public. The Open Days are part of the EU’s celebrations surrounding Europe Day on 9 May, when the EU commemorates the signing of the Schuman Declaration in 1950.

With the European elections only weeks away, this event provides an excellent opportunity to see the EU institutions for yourself and to learn more about what Europe does for and with you. You can explore EU buildings and take part in debates, live performances, games and other activities.

The European Commission will open the doors of the Berlaymont, one of our most iconic buildings, between 10:00 and 18:00. Explore the thematic villages set up for the occasion, discover the history of the EU and our values. Visit the 13th floor meeting room where the College of Commissioners meets every week. Step inside our TV studios and visit our small audiovisual museum. Enjoy artistic performances, taste some of our finest European farm products and discover the EU in Belgium. Special activities will highlight the 20th anniversary of the 2004 EU enlargement, 25 years of the euro and 30 years of the Single Market.

The other EU institutions will also organise numerous activities on the same day and events will be held all around Europe and the rest of the world. You can visit the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, or the Commission representation in your country, for example. Or visit the European External Action Service buildings in Brussels and around the world, where you can engage in talks with EU ambassadors, enjoy live music, dance performances, workshops and collect culinary inspirations from around the globe.
