Position: Webmaster

SportsEngine Tools Utilized: RegistrationSitebuilder

What he was up against

Liverpool FC America was experiencing rapid growth, but the club was still using spreadsheets to track registrations and payments that they were collecting through cash and checks. When the club saw that registrations could soon skyrocket, using spreadsheets would no longer cut it.

What SportsEngine did to help

Liverpool FC America chose SportsEngine to help move the entire registration and payment collection process online, as well as launch a new club website

What the impact was

Once SportsEngine released a fresh new website for Liverpool FC America and trained their staff on the Registration tool, the club immediately benefited from how much easier it was to do business online rather than on paper and in spreadsheets.

“Before we were doing it online, people would write their credit card number on a piece of paper and give it to us and sign it,” says Will.

“During our first year of operation we did around 1,400 cash transactions, then the next year with SportsEngine we did 11,000 transactions online,” says Will. “It has worked marvelous for us.”

At any given time, Will may be running 20 or more online registrations, and a single registration often has numerous price points depending on a multitude of factors.

“They all pay something different,” says Will. “Kids have scholarships, so they pay different rates. One of the things we really like about the Registration tool is the discount code that allows you to customize the base rate for particular athletes. Now we have have a tremendous amount of flexibility.”

Will’s process for building registrations involves filling out and submitting an online form that he sends to SportsEngine’s Registration team for construction. Once it’s built, Will simply reviews all the key information.

“It’s a very simple process, it really is,” says Will. “And it only gets easier over time.”
