It’s hard to believe. But in 1998, only *half* of the world’s girls went to secondary school. Today it’s over 75%.
That’s over 100 million more girls receiving the education they deserve – and that society needs.
Educate a girl, and her whole community benefits. Girls who stay in school marry later and have healthier children. They earn more. Have more say in their lives and communities. Live healthier, happier lives. Educating girls might be the single best investment a society can make. And the world is making it.
With more classrooms. Free tuition. Cash incentives for families. Campaigns against child marriage.
The homework isn’t finished. Around one in five girls is still missing out, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa. And in places like Afghanistan where girls have been barred from secondary education since 2021.
But millions more girls are getting the chance to shape their own futures.
