Faye Winter has sparked worry among her fans after telling her followers that her ‘health took a battering’ last year.

The Love Island star, 27, took to social media on Saturday after an extended break to give an update amid rumours she’s split from her beau Teddy Soares.

It comes after Teddy recently broke down in tears on his own Instagram page as he opened up about a difficult week.

Are you okay? Faye Winter has sparked worry among her fans after telling her followers that her ‘health took a battering’ last year

Faye told her followers: ‘Sorry for the deafening silence but it was needed. Last year I took a battering, I took one for most people’s team.

‘Even to the point that my physical health took a battering. I just needed two weeks to reset.’

Meanwhile Teddy recently posted a teary-eyed selfie alongside the words: ‘About last week’, as he opened up about a difficult time.

With the pair both alluding to a tough period many fans have speculated that the pair are going through a rocky time or have potentially split.

Representatives for both have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.

An emotional Teddy explained recently: ‘One of the things I really wanna do this year is practise what you preach.’

‘I want to be brave in sharing how I was feeling last week.

‘That’s why I thought I’d give you guys a bit of an insight into how I’ve been feeling recently and it’s not easy, it’s really not easy to obviously share your emotions, it’s not easy to wear your heart on your sleeve and announce it.’

Teddy went on to say: ‘One of the biggest reasons why I wanted to put that image of myself on my story was because, to be honest it was not only about helping myself, but it was also about who it could also help in the process as well.

‘Because hopefully, you know, there will be someone out there that sees it and thinks, oh, do you know what, I’m feeling the same.’

Teddy previously denied accusations they had split after sharing a clip gushing about the ‘best weekend’ they shared together, saying: ‘Yo everyone, yo. I’ve got up super late but I don’t care.

‘We’ve had the best weekend. It has been phenomenal, out of this world.’

It comes after earlier this month Faye said she ‘absolutely’ agrees with the new Love Island rules which will see Islanders’ social media accounts to remain dormant while they are in the villa.

The reality star found fame on the show in 2021 and believes it is ‘necessary to protect’ the family and friends running the islanders accounts.

Answering fan questions on an Instagram Q&A, Faye said it is a ‘shame’ that it has come down to this because of trolls and bullying.

Speaking about the measures, she penned: ‘For the welfare of my family and friends ABSOLUTELY but I do think what a bloody shame.

‘All because narrow minded people genuinely believe they can judge, torment and bully others based of a 45 minute show which is highly edited and each person probably gets 8 minutes of airtime.

‘Sad when you think about it but absolutely necessary to protect there innocent darling heads – people will moan and it will be those that caused it. [sic].

‘In the famous words of all parents, you only have yourselves to blame you big knuckle heads.’

It came after Faye revealed she got into a ‘really dark’ place after soaring to fame on the ITV2 show and admitted she still struggles to go out places alone due to her suffering crippling anxiety.

In a candid interview last month, Faye spoke out about how her mental health took a devastating toll after being inundated with cruel comments from trolls.

The television personality was hit by 25,000 Ofcom complaints during her time on the show due to her furious row with boyfriend Teddy on movie night following Casa Amor.

A year on, Faye says her confidence was shattered so much by the backlash she received she refused to leave the house for days on end and still now can’t go to some shops on her own.

‘I would literally be sat inside four walls all day, looking at social media… judging myself, because I’m my own biggest critic. You can get yourself in a really dark place and I’ve been there.’ Faye told The Sun.

Now ITV have said a comprehensive package of welfare measures remain in place for programme contributors to ensure stars are fully supported before, during and after the filming period.

As part of extended measures to protect both the Islanders and their families from ‘the adverse effects of social media’, participants will be asked to pause handles and accounts on their social media platforms for the duration of their time on the show.

Islanders’ accounts will remain dormant while they are in the Villa, so that nothing is published on their behalf.

In past series, Islanders’ teams used their accounts to encourage viewers to vote for them and build up their following – but this has led to them receiving abuse from trolls and getting into spats with other contestants’ family and friends.
