Kenny Pickett hopes Steelers draft former teammate

The Steelers had the NFL’s youngest offense in 2022. But should Pittsburgh add to it with one of QB Kenny Pickett‘s former Pitt teammates?

Pickett sure hopes so since WR Jordan Addison officially declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.

“I would love it, man,” Pickett said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “I’m excited to see where he ends up. Hopefully in the black and gold.”

The two connected 100 times for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2021. And they’re planning to train together this offseason to keep their chemistry alive.

“He’s down in Florida training and I’m excited to get down there and train with him a little bit too,” Pickett added. “He’s a talented guy, man. He’s been one of the best that I’ve been around.”

The Steelers have been one of the best teams at drafting receivers outside of the first round. But according to Pro Football Focus’s big board, Addison is a projected first-round pick as the No. 23 overall ranked player.

Pittsburgh also has a number of other needs, but reuniting former college teammates has seemed to work in the league.

If Pickett is willing to slam the table for his favorite target in college, it’s worth at least considering Addison at No. 17.
