In fact, their wedding scene kiss was allegedly all done with CGI — at least, according to their co-star Andrew Schulz.
While discussing the flick on his podcast The Brilliant Idiots, Andrew joked that the pair didn’t appear to make a great couple and “don’t even kiss.”
“There’s a hilarious thing — I don’t even know if I should share this shit, but the final scene, they don’t even kiss,” Andrew said. “It’s CGI. Swear to God.”
Andrew says that when he was on set while the scene was being filmed, he witnessed Jonah and Lauren lean in for a kiss — but stop short of locking lips.
But in the film, the pair actually share a full-on kiss.
“Their faces stop like this far, and I’m like, ‘I wonder how they’re going to play that in the movie, they’ll probably just cut right there,'” he explained.
Andrew continued, “But [in] the movie, you could see their faces come close, and then you can see their faces morph a little bit into a fake kiss.”
While Jonah and Lauren haven’t responded to the rumors, Lauren did recently reveal she was apprehensive about taking on the role because she was concerned the characters’ relationship wouldn’t be believable.
“I thought, ‘Why would these two people really like each other?’ They’re from two totally different worlds, and if you see them, you would never think that they would meet or hang out, whatever the case is,” Lauren told Harper’s Bazaar.
Lauren added that despite her initial hesitation, she ended up getting along with Jonah much better than she thought she would.
