FINANCIAL services firms are being encouraged to nominate their stars of the future and play their part in championing Jersey as a hub for young talent, as nominations for this year’s Jersey Finance Rising Stars Awards are now open.

Organised by Jersey Finance, the awards – now in their fourth year – aim to celebrate talent among those aged 16 to 30 who are working anywhere across the full spectrum of Jersey’s financial services sector.

Categories comprise:

  • Banking, sponsored by Butterfield.
  • CSR and Employee Morale sponsored by PraxisIFM.
  • Digital, sponsored by Peregrine.
  • Diversity and Inclusion, sponsored by Kleinwort Hambros.
  • Funds, sponsored by TMF Group.
  • Human Resources, sponsored by HSBC CIIOM.
  • Operations and Secretarial.
  • Sustainability, sponsored by PwC.
  • Trust and Corporate Services, sponsored by Stonehage Fleming.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 7 April, with Jersey Finance member firms able to put forward their employees through the organisation’s website. Firms are able to submit multiple nominations across all categories and, once entries are submitted, they will be reviewed and shortlisted by a panel of independent judges.

Shortlisted entries will then be voted for through an online polling platform, with winners being announced at the awards ceremony at the Royal Jersey Showground on Friday 28 July.

Commenting on the awards, Joe Moynihan, chief executive of Jersey Finance, said: ‘Now more than ever we recognise the importance of celebrating the wealth of talent that exists across the younger segment of our workforce. They are our future leaders and will help shape the direction of the industry, bringing new ideas and skills to their organisations and helping to maintain Jersey’s leading position as an IFC.

‘With that in mind, I’m delighted to launch our 2023 Rising Stars Awards, with the event getting bigger and better every year. Last year, we received almost 51,000 votes and I’m convinced we can surpass that again this year as we collectively celebrate the achievements of our exceptional young professionals.’
