📍 Dublin, 5 September 2025 — Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration Jim O’Callaghan has announced €1.75 million in funding to enhance services for children, young people, and families residing in international protection accommodation across Ireland.
The funding will be delivered through the Children and Young People’s Services Committees (CYPSC), a nationwide network that coordinates statutory, community, and voluntary services for individuals aged 0–24. CYPSC operates under the strategic direction of the Department of Children, Disability and Equality, with leadership provided by Tusla’s National Office.
Established in 2023, the CYPSC international protection fund has supported a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving health, wellbeing, and integration outcomes. The 2025 Funding Framework—developed in collaboration with Tusla—invites local CYPSC groups to propose targeted projects aligned with five key objectives:
- Community Integration
- Health and Wellbeing
- Supports for Parents
- Emergency Accommodation
- Pathways to Independence
Minister O’Callaghan emphasized the importance of tailored support: “This fund has been instrumental in addressing the needs of children and young people in international protection accommodation. The projects it enables will help make their lives better.”
Minister of State for Migration Colm Brophy TD also welcomed the renewed funding, citing its proven impact on mental health and social inclusion.
