The contemporary style-minded consumer—whether they are fans of the opulence and extravagance of haute couture or the utility and chicness of streetwear—has an affinity for high fashion collaborations. These partnerships are often framed as combining each participating brand’s iconic aesthetic with that of the other. The result often gives fans the chance to witness (and/or purchase) something unique.
In the world of high fashion collaborations this year, the debut of sacai’s Fall/Winter 2023 capsule stands. Amid the very interesting silhouettes on the runway, two brand partnerships stood out. The first one is with Nike, a relationship that sacai has nurtured previously. The runway showcased “several new sneakers that appear to riff on the Nike Air Footscape.” In addition to these highly anticipated silhouettes, the sacai Fall/Winter 2023 capsule also called attention to a forthcoming collaboration with Carhartt WIP.
