Former Steelers QB takes dig at Lamar Jackson’s game

Steelers vs. Ravens has been one of the best rivalries in the NFL, so Ben Roethlisberger isn’t going to stop giving his opinion just because his playing days are over. That’s exactly what he did for QB Lamar Jackson.

“You don’t really fear Lamar’s accuracy all the time. He’s got a huge arm. He can make things happen when he scrambles, but you don’t fear him just sitting in the pocket and picking you apart,” Roethlisberger said on his “Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger” podcast.

Roethlisberger may be a little biased, but Jackson has struggled against Pittsburgh throughout his career. He is 2-3 vs. the Steelers, throwing four touchdowns to six interceptions and being sacked 16 times, per StatMuse.com.

However, Roethlisberger did give credit to one part of his game.

“You can bring safeties down because you do fear him running because he’s a different-level runner,” Roethlisberger added.

There has been a long debate about how far Jackson can take Baltimore. The Ravens have made the postseason four out of the past five seasons since he was drafted, but they’ve gone 1-4, never getting past the divisional round of the playoffs.

The 2019 NFL MVP has had a lack of suitors on the non-exclusive franchise tag as well. Maybe Roethlisberger is just speaking on how the rest of the league feels about Jackson.
