Public Records adds a new lounge and bar on the upper floor of the creative space in Brooklyn. Founders Shane Dabis and Francis Harris tap the help of design studio DSLV Studio to decorate the space that first opened in 2019. The new extension takes place in an industrial brick building, filling it with a cafe and record store, a plant-baed bar and restaurant, an outdoor garden, and a Sound Room to host live performances. Arup joins the project when assisting with the acoustics.
David states that “We felt that people would value a space that inspires more intimate connection than our other spaces. This framework then provides opportunities to explore our ideas and showcase those of our collaborators on various scales, whether it be a sound system, a chair, an event series, or a cocktail.”
