Data security firm Cyera has raised a $540 million Series E funding round, bringing its total funding to over $1.3 billion and valuing the company at $6 billion.
Empowering Secure AI Adoption
Headquartered in New York, NY, Cyera provides an AI-driven, cloud-native platform designed to help organizations discover, classify, and protect data across diverse environments—including cloud, SaaS, data lakes, and on-premises systems.
“As enterprises rapidly adopt generative AI, copilots, and foundation models, securing the data powering these systems has become a top priority,” the company stated.
Yotam Segev, co-founder and CEO of Cyera, emphasized the critical role of data security in AI adoption:
“AI runs on GPUs and data. Cyera’s focus on securing data is the most essential capability enterprises need to adopt AI responsibly. This funding allows us to scale our platform and team to meet the growing global demand for secure, responsible AI adoption.”
Investment and Future Growth
The Series E funding was led by Georgian, Greenoaks, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, alongside existing investors Accel, Coatue, Cyberstarts, Redpoint, Sapphire Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Spark Capital.
The latest investment follows a $300 million Series D round announced just seven months earlier, reflecting strong market confidence in Cyera’s solutions. The company plans to leverage the funds to accelerate product development, expand strategic market presence, and strengthen talent acquisition.
Cyera’s platform also offers data security posture management, privacy protections, threat detection and response, and access governance—critical features for businesses navigating the complexities of data security in an AI-driven world.
Strategic Acquisitions and Global Presence
In October 2024, Cyera acquired stealth-mode startup Trail Security for $162 million in cash and stock, integrating its data loss prevention technology to strengthen its offerings.
Currently, Cyera employs nearly 800 professionals across 10 countries, demonstrating its growing global footprint in AI-powered security solutions.
