A boutique woodland retreat “in the dense nature of Hastings in East Sussex, UK” is guaranteed to whisk individuals away from busy stressful lives and immerse them in tranquil greenery. The design of the space contributes a strong contemporary feel to the experience and Michael Kendrick Architects, the firm that headed the project, made sure to make the most out of the site. In cases such as this, expansive windows are a must in order to maximize views from the outside. Michael Kendrick Architects also selected cedar for the interior and timber for the facade, allowing the home to effortlessly blend with the surroundings and “protect the existing trees.” Dubbed the Looking Glass Lodge, the firm developed this breathtaking contemporary woodland retreat with seclusion and privacy in mind.
