Conroy Gold & Natural Resources PLC said Monday that a drilling program analysis has revealed gold at the Clay Lake gold target in County Armagh, Ireland.

The Ireland and Finland-focused mining company said the results are from the first drill hole at Clay Lake, part of an eight-hole drilling program announced on Feb. 8. The results include a gold intersection of 40.5 meters, at 1.2 grams per metric ton of gold.

The new drill hole was located around 200 meters southwest of the nearest previous drill hole, which the company said in November 2018 intersected 52.5 meters of gold at 0.5 grams a ton.

“This is an excellent start to the step-out drilling program at Clay Lake and adds further to the overall gold potential of this new gold district,” Chairman Richard Conroy said.
