Dive Insight:
The move further solidifies family-run Colonial Oil’s network in Georgia. Colonial Oil has been serving the Southeast U.S. for over 100 years and currently offers a variety of branded fuel options — including Marathon, Shell and Chevron — as well as unbranded fuel to customers.
“Colonial Oil is excited about this opportunity to add customers in our home market as well as adding new team members to the Colonial family,” said Chris Ingram, vice president at Colonial Oil Industries. “We have grown our commercial fuel and lubricants business substantially in the last three years and feel like we have a great team in place to support continued growth.”
In addition to gasoline, Colonial Oil’s products also include diesel, biodiesel, kerosene and more. It also has supply and logistics operations that reach all along the East Coast and westward to Texas and Colorado.
In 2022, the company also acquired Peak Energy/Haywood Oil Company to expand its reach in the Asheville, North Carolina, area. Its parent company, Colonial Group, is the eighth-largest privately held gas and oil company in the U.S., according to Forbes.
