Frequently asked questions

Will I have to wait until the deadline to see my work on the blog?

No! We are hoping to post artwork on an online gallery format, in November 2023, December 2023, January 2024 and February 2024.

Must the text be in English?

Yes please at this time!

How will you make it clear that this is my art?

Submitted work posted on the blog is clearly credited to the artist.

Can I include more than one artwork?

You are welcome to include up to 3 images per email. This could be 3 artworks, or 1 artwork and images of your process etc.

Will you publish all artworks that you receive?

We are hoping for a varied online gallery to appear on the blog. However, artwork must also to fit the ethos of the Journal of Ecology. The blog welcomes traditional art practitioners as well as fresh interpretations on the Journal’s themes of plants, fungi, algae and aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

We are a collective/team working together…

Work done in teams is very welcome, just provide information for each artist, for instance several names and social media links (if relevant).

I have a paper published with the journal of ecology, can I send in images of my process?

Authors who have a paper published in the Journal of Ecology can contribute to the blog with an author post. Please contact us and we can send you all the information. This will link up to your published article.

Other than the Journal of Ecology, what are the other journals of the British Journal of Ecology?
