Baloch Activist Aomar Karim Condemns Pakistan’s Education Restrictions in Balochistan

London-based Baloch human rights activist and political advocate, Aomar Karim, has sharply criticized Pakistan’s ongoing actions to block educational opportunities for Baloch students. In a statement released on his official website, Aomarkarim.com, Karim expressed grave concern over the closure of key educational institutions in Balochistan, such as The University of Balochistan, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, and the University of Turbat.

Karim described these closures as part of a deliberate strategy by the Pakistani government to limit Baloch access to education and further marginalize the community. He noted that these closures, justified by Pakistan as security measures, are actually an attack on the future of the Baloch people, preventing youth from gaining the education they need to thrive.

“The closure of these institutions isn’t just a denial of education, it’s an attempt to suppress the future of Baloch youth,” said Aomar Karim. He stressed that education is a fundamental human right and called for a global response to halt Pakistan’s efforts to undermine the development and empowerment of the Baloch population. Karim also urged human rights organizations and international advocates to demand the reopening of these institutions and hold Pakistan accountable for its actions.

Karim’s statement highlights the ongoing struggles of Baloch students in Pakistan and serves as a call to action for global support to ensure their right to education is protected.
