Bad Bunny Says He ‘Returns Disrespect’ After Fan Phone Incident

Entertainment

Bad Bunny fans, take notes! You have to give respect to be received with it, especially when entering the musician’s personal space. He laid this all out in his written reaction to a viral clip of him tossing a fan’s phone.

In the video, which started circulating on Monday (Jan. 2), a crowd of Spanish-speaking fans and assumed employees surrounded Bad Bunny as he walked outside in the Dominican Republic. A woman in a yellow, flower-patterned dress walked alongside the Latin star. She held a cell phone in one hand outstretched in front of them.

In an instant, Bad Bunny grabs the device and casually tosses it over the woman’s head and into a nearby body of water. The woman paused her step, likely to process what just happened, but Bunny kept on walking.

The person who recorded the viral interaction lags behind the artist but says “forreal” in Spanish while continuing to record the rapper. Someone in the crowd says, “with that you clowned.”

Bad Bunny, also speaking in Spanish, says to the other people surrounding him, “there must be respect,” adding that people “must respect his space.”

Bad Bunny Asks Fans To Show Respect In Response To Viral Video

The star responded to the trending conversation about tossing the fan’s phone in a Spanish-language tweet.

Translated tweet:

“The person who gets near me to greet me, to tell me something, or get to know me will always receive my attention and respect. Those who come to put a damned phone in the face, I’ll consider it for what it is, a lack of respect, and I will treat it likewise.”

Bad Bunny is one of the few celebs to recently lash out at seemingly invasive fans (and media).

In late December, Roddy Ricch went off on a photographer who wouldn’t stop filming and taking pictures of him–despite two gentle warnings from the rapper’s security. Ricch told the paparazzi member to “leave [him] the f**k alone” because he was living his “real life” at that moment, which included loading a new car into his vehicle’s trunk.

At this time, it’s unclear if the woman has spoken out about the incident or if Bad Bunny offered or planned to replace her device.
