Cameron Green spoke to Channel Seven before the start of play …

Q: Congratulations, five-for on Boxing Day. Let’s go back a few days, a magic moment in the IPL, you have gone for a bit of money in the auction there, Christmas day, how has your week been?
A: Yeah, it has been a great week. I think obviously the start of the summer was a bit slow and yeah, you always think everything is against you in cricket, kind of feels like that, and then yeah, you have a pretty nice few days. It has been good.

Q: When Mitchell Starc goes down, as a bowler you become not an all-rounder but you become a front-line bowler. How did you feel like it went yesterday?
A: I think that is what the coaching staff planned for. That is why I maybe get kind of looked after throughout the start of the summer just in case something like this happens. Luckily enough kind of got rewards but it was through the bowling of the other three that created that.

Q: When you are going hard at those batsmen, what is it for you that you are trying to do and is the rhythm there for you at the moment?
A: I kind of get caught up sometimes to take wickets instead of my role obviously is the fifth quick normally, but I also like the fourth bowler yesterday, trying to basically hold up one end. I get caught trying to attack the stumps a bit but yesterday was hanging on fourth, fifth (stump). We thought the ball got soft and the wicket became nice. We thought maybe the edges were in play going wider.

Q: Your bowling action. The progression from when you were a youngster to now. Is it where you
want it to be?
A: Obviously you got improvements. I think that is something about cricket, there is always something you can work on. Yeah, at the moment it is trying to get my foot kind of out of the way, I think. At the start of the summer I was getting a bit confident kind of coming around myself and felt like my arms and legs were everywhere. But yesterday it felt nice getting my foot out of the way so my whole body could go through and follow through.

Q: Speaking of feeling nice, that was top of the off stump for your five-for on Boxing Day. I saw your name is on the honour’s board, it must be magic to have that moment, no-one can ever take away from you.
A: Yes, I think so, it might take a while to sink in but it is pretty special.
