All-Pro receiver has punchy recruiting pitch for Aaron Rodgers

A former Packers teammate of Aaron Rodgers has a succinct recruiting pitching for the QB, who could be on the move this offseason.

“I’m here,” Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams said when asked by NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe about the best selling point for Las Vegas for Rodgers.

Adams, a three-time All-Pro, was Rodgers’ No.1 target when they played in Green Bay for eight seasons. The tandem connected for a team-record 68 touchdowns. Adams made five consecutive Pro Bowl appearances from 2017-21, and Rodgers won two league MVPs during that time.

A Rodgers-Adams reunion is attractive — one the receiver fully embraces.

“Playing with him again would be a dream scenario,” Adams told Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

It’s a scenario that the Raiders can turn into a reality. Although Rodgers has not officially announced plans to play in 2023, he likely won’t be a Packer if he returns.

“A trade feels more possible than ever,” wrote ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

A trade may not require multiple first-round picks because potential trade partners can use Rodgers’ age (39) and his 2023 guaranteed salary ($59.5M) as leverage.

“At this point, I would doubt it takes more than a mid-round pick to get Rodgers,” an anonymous NFL GM told the Washington Post’s Jason La Canfora.

The Raiders could face competition for Rodgers from the Jets, but Las Vegas has more cap space. According to OverTheCap, Las Vegas has $19.8M in cap room; the Jets are $1.3M over the cap.

When the Raiders trade or cut QB Derek Carr before Feb. 15, it will create more than $25M in cap space.

Per Oddschecker, the Raiders are the favorite to land Rodgers.
