Rookie cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner discussed the possibility of his New York Jets landing Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason during an ESPN Radio appearance.

As shared by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Gardner referred to Rodgers as “definitely elite” and was then asked if he wants the Jets to pull the trigger on what would be a blockbuster trade.

“I mean, you know, I would,” Gardner responded. “I wouldn’t mind that. I just want what’s best for the offense. But, at the same time, I just got to focus on my job and focus on what we’ve got going on on the defensive side.”

Back in November amid reports and rumors that suggested second-year pro Zach Wilson was losing members of the locker room because of his poor play and his unwillingness to accept blame for a loss to the New England Patriots, Gardner and defensive end John Franklin-Myers both happened to “accidentally” like tweets that called the young signal-caller out. More recently, Gardner was accused of purposely using Mike White over Wilson in “Madden 23.”
