This new Laphroaig packaging is being introduced by the Beam Suntory-owned Scotch whiskey brand in an effort to reduce the distillery’s carbon footprint. The packaging will see the brand retaining its signature green bottle with its black and white label, but will see the plastic topper swapped out for beech wood. The secondary packaging tube has been swapped out for a recyclable carton, which is combination with the aforementioned changes will result in a 30% decrease in carbon emissions.
Vice President Global Scotch and Irish Brands at Beam Suntory Chris Richardson spoke on the new Laphroaig packaging saying, “The Laphroaig distillery has been making whisky for more than 200 years and it is fundamentally important we take steps to reduce our environmental impact and protect the natural resources we rely upon. This new packaging is a good step forward in our global sustainability ambitions, while maintaining Laphroaig’s true character and exceptionally high quality.”
