Missy Elliott, 51, is turning heads on social media with fans comparing her latest look to City Girls rapper Yung Miami.
The Grammy-winning artist celebrated her nomination for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week. She tweeted about her emotions, saying,
“I’ve cried my eyes out. I’ve always dreamed big, but this nomination is even bigger than I dreamed and I am so humbly grateful.”

One day after the Hall of Fame announcement, Missy celebrated with videos of herself flaunting outfit changes. Comments poured in from fans praising the singer, like, “she is aging backward,” and “you deserve to be celebrated sis, periodt!” But they also made one very specific comparison between Missy and another young rapper.

Adding to her eventful week, Missy joined the likes of Lil Wayne and Dr. Dre as they were honored for their musical achievements during a pre-Grammys event. The rapper receive a Global Impact Award.
Elliott’s emotional speech honoring Sylvia Rhone, a music executive and CEO of Epic Records, moved some members of the audience to tears, CBS reported. The four-time Grammy winner praised Rhone for seeing potential in her, despite her own doubts. Rhone, known as one of the most influential executives in the industry, made history in 1994 as the first-ever woman and only African American to hold the titles of chairman and CEO of Elektra Entertainment Group.
