High-performance outerwear that is also slick and stylish in design can be hard to come by. Yet many contemporary luxury brands pursue this perfect balance. Most recently, Italian outerwear specialists Colmar tapped the contemporary Japanese designer and mastermind behind the label White Mountaineering, Yosuke Aizawa, for a high-performance outerwear collaboration for Milan Fashion Week 2023. Dubbed the Revolution collection, this partnership is not a first for the duo.
In addition to the highly technical outerwear silhouettes that draw on nature-inspired colorways and design sensibilities, Colmar and Yosuke Aizawa launched an installation to celebrate their achievements. The activation, which brings another dimension to the high-performance outerwear capsule, is located at the top of Torre Branca—”an iconic Milan landmark.” A selection of the Revolution collection is displayed within “a recreation of the jackets’ natural habitat.”
