Minister Neale Richmond Reaffirms Ireland’s Support at Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome

📍 Rome, July 10, 2025 — Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora Neale Richmond represented Ireland at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025, a high-level international forum convened in Rome to mobilize global support for Ukraine’s reconstruction and reform efforts amid ongoing Russian aggression.

The conference, co-hosted by Italy and Ukraine, brought together governments, international organizations, financial institutions, businesses, and civil society to advance Ukraine’s economic resilience, EU accession, and long-term recovery. It marked the fourth such gathering since Russia’s full-scale invasion, following previous editions in Lugano (2022), London (2023), and Berlin (2024).

🗣️ Ireland’s National Statement Minister Richmond emphasized Ireland’s unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s recovery, stating:

“Rebuilding Ukraine is at its heart a story about lives and livelihoods. Ireland is committed to supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction and path towards membership of the European Union, including in the context of our upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union next year.”

He called for increased international action, noting the growing humanitarian toll and infrastructure damage caused by Russia’s continued assaults on Ukrainian cities.
