On April 21, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight 1213, an Airbus A330, experienced an engine fire shortly after pushback from the gate at Orlando International Airport. The aircraft, bound for Atlanta with 282 passengers and 12 crew members aboard, was evacuated via emergency slides at approximately 11:15 a.m. EDT. No injuries were reported.

The fire originated in the tailpipe of one of the aircraft’s engines. Airport rescue and firefighting teams responded promptly, extinguishing the flames and ensuring passenger safety. Delta’s flight crew followed established safety protocols during the evacuation.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has initiated an investigation into the cause of the engine fire. This incident adds to a series of recent aviation safety concerns in the U.S., including a deadly mid-air collision in January.

Delta has expressed appreciation for passengers’ cooperation and has arranged for alternative flights to accommodate affected travelers. The airline emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority.

This event underscores the importance of rigorous safety measures and swift response protocols in maintaining public confidence in air travel.
