CarbonQuest has raised $20 million in a funding round led by Riverbend Energy Group, with additional backing from Energy Capital Ventures (ECV) and Aligned Climate Capital. The investment will fuel the expansion of CarbonQuest’s Distributed Carbon Capture™ technology, targeting industries such as utilities, manufacturing, and data centers across North America.

The company is focused on delivering the lowest cost per ton in carbon capture, improving efficiency with its modular, solid-sorbent solutions. CarbonQuest’s technology has already proven effective through six successful commercial deployments, positioning the company as a leader in the carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) market.

“This funding accelerates our scaling efforts and supports a diverse range of projects,” said Shane Johnson, CEO of CarbonQuest.

Backers see distributed carbon capture as a critical but underfunded segment of the CCUS market. Vic Pascucci of ECV highlighted that CarbonQuest’s solution serves a wide range of industries, making it a key player in decarbonization efforts.

The company is also pursuing partnerships, including with Carbfix, to explore carbon capture and mineralization opportunities.

With this new funding and strong backing, CarbonQuest is poised to accelerate its mission to provide scalable and efficient decarbonization solutions.
