Anyone who follows the stars of The Wedding Veil trilogy may already know that they filmed this movie in Greece! Specifically, they filmed on the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes.
More so, they filmed in late November, and into early December when there was fabulous food, beautiful turquoise waters, and no tourists!
Alison Sweeney confirmed on Instagram the two countries they filmed in. “It has been so much fun filming #TheWeddingVeil in Greece 🇬🇷 & Bulgaria 🇧🇬 ! Sir Ron Oliver Was The First To Direct A Movie At Acropolis Of Lindos
Hallmark’s Wedding Veil Journey is historic. According to director Ron Oliver’s Instagram post, “Sir Ronald invites you all to Greece – and the first time in history that a motion picture director has been allowed to film on the centuries-old Acropolis of Lindos – with his latest epic THE WEDDING VEIL JOURNEY ”
The Acropolis of Lindos is a 4th Century B.C. ancient citadel that can only be reached by donkeys, or walking. The streets going to the historic site are very narrow and could be a challenge. However, Oliver is a Hallmark Hall of Fame director whose films include some fan favorites such as Christmas At The Plaza, and A Timeless Christmas.
A fan commented on Sir Ron Oliver’s post, “Great music!!! Btw speaking of Zorba the Greek, Anthony Quinn owned a beach and property on Rhodes! Anyone could swim there and we did!! Rhodes is magical!”
Ron replied, “we filmed there!”
Therefore, Hallmark fans should note that when they are on the beach, this is the infamous Anthony Quinn Bay Beach.
Where In Bulgaria Did they Film Third Movie?
According to social media, they filmed a small part of the movie in Sofia, Bulgaria.
