The ending between the Raiders and the Patriots was pure mayhem. The bonkers finish included a controversial touchdown call and a failed New England lateral that allowed Las Vegas to escape with a 30-24 victory.
On the game’s last play, New England running back Rhamondre Stevenson lateraled the ball to Jakobi Meyers, who proceeded to run around, tossing the ball errantly to Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones, who rumbled 48 yards for a walk-off touchdown.
It is one of the wildest endings in recent memory, and there’s a possibility it shouldn’t have happened since a controversial call helped Las Vegas tie it.
On the previous drive, Derek Carr tossed a 30-yard touchdown to Keelan Cole. However, it looked like Cole had one foot out of bounds, so the play should’ve been overturned and ruled as an incompletion.
If officials overruled the play, it’s likely that the Raiders may not have driven down the field since they had 32 seconds left.
Perhaps, this will be one of the most memorable games of the season since the final minute contained so much pandemonium.
It’s fitting that it included the Raiders because they’ve played on the edge throughout the season, coming away with shocking victories.
Four of their six victories are by one possession. However, this win might be the most memorable.
